Driver Rescued From Overturned Vehicle During Snow Squall

The crash occurred Wednesday afternoon.

A trapped driver was rescued after she was involved in a two-car overturn crash during a snow squall on Wednesday afternoon.

According to fire officials, a woman was driving a Honda when her vehicle overturned, trapping her under the steering wheel, on Jerusalem Avenue and 10th Street at 4 p.m.

The crews from the Hicksville Fire Department and Nassau County Police Emergency Service responded to the scene and used hydraulic tools to remove the roof and free the trapped driver.

The woman was taken to Nassau University Medical Center to be treated for her injuries.

A snow squall came through the area, covering rescuers in snow during the operation.

Jerusalem Avenue was closed in both directions following the crash.
