Hicksville High Schooler Ranked New York's Top 2nd Baseman

A Hicksville high schooler enters the 2019 season as the top ranked second baseman by Prep Baseball Report.

HICKSVILLE, NY — A high school baseball player in Hicksville has been ranked the top 2nd baseman in the state by Prep Baseball Report.

Jordan Ramlogan, a senior who stands 5-feet-6-inches, plays both shortstop and second base for Holy Trinity Diocesan High School, a co-ed school on Cherry Lane. He confirmed the ranking to Patch in an Instagram message Tuesday. He was also ranked No. 60 overall in the state.

Ramlogan's head coach Dan Luisi gave him the news in a text message, the Hicksville News reported.

"My first reaction was a jolt of happiness because my hard work got me there," he told Patch.

Ramlogan, a right-hander, plans to continue playing in college. Currently, he's undecided on where to attend. He hopes to one day become a professional baseball player.
