Latina Moms Hosting Free Potluck Dinner During 'El Día De Reyes'
The holiday commemorates the three wise men who traveled from afar, bearing gifts for the infant baby Jesus.
HICKSVILLE, NY —While most of us are putting away the Christmas trees, lights and holiday decor, some people are still celebrating the 'spirit of the season' through Jan. 6. For many Hispanic people, the festivities don't officially end until 'El Dia de Reyes,' or Three Kings Day, arrives.
This holiday represents the height of the Christmas season. In Latin culture, the date commemorates the three wise men who traveled from afar, bearing gifts for the infant baby Jesus, according Mexonline.com.
To celebrate the special day, the group, Latina Moms of Long Island, will host a potluck dinner on Jan. 6 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event will take place at 100 Duffy Ave in Hicksville, and the public is invited.
