Man Attempts To Lure Boy, 9, Into Car: Police

Police say he pulled up to a boy who was walking to school and tried to get him into his car. The boy refused, ran away, and reported him.

NEW CASSEL, NY — Nassau County Police Department detectives are investigating an incident of a man trying to lure a 9-year-old by into his vehicle, according to a release from the department.

Police say around 7:55 a.m. Wednesday, the boy was walking to school on Park Avenue near New York Avenue and was approached by a man driving a dark four-door sedan.

He tried to get the boy inside the car, police say.

The boy refused and ran to the school, reporting the incident to a teacher and his mother.

The suspect is a Hispanic male with a beard, police say. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a gold chain.
