Sheet Metal Manufacturer To Bring 300 Union Jobs To Nassau County
The business will boost Nassau County's economy by about $2.7 billion, officials say.
A New York City-based manufacturer is moving to Long Island from Queens, bringing more than 300 new union jobs to the area.
Delta Sheet Metal Corp., a manufacturer of sheet metal ductwork owned air conditioning and heating systems contractor PJ Mechanical Corp., is relocating to a 74,000-square-foot vacant industrial space located at 940 S. Oyster Bay Road in Hicksville. The space is across the street from Northrop Grumman.
“This is a major coup for the IDA (Nassau County Industrial Development Agency) and Nassau County,” Nassau County Executive Mangano said in a press release.

The IDA approved an economic compact on Wednesday that allowed Delta Sheet Metal to relocate to the Hicksville space.
The company employs 311 workers and plans to add another 16 jobs.
“Our success in bringing New York City companies to Nassau County lies in both the tremendous effort by my economic development team, competitive real estate value, the attraction of great schools and the high quality of life enjoyed by our residents and, of course, a terrific workforce,” Mangano said.
The workforce of Delta Sheet Metal, which was established in 1972, is represented by Local 28 Sheet Metal Workers Union and Local 282 of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
