HICKSVILLE, NY — A Westbury man was arrested over the weekend for a failed robbery that occurred last December.
According to police, a 57-year-old woman was sitting in her car at 9:15 p.m. on Dec. 15, 2020 in front of a business on West Old Country Road in Hicksville. Police say a man approached the driver-side window armed with a knife and demanded the woman's purse. The woman refused, and police say the man fled on foot north on Newbridge Road.
The woman followed the man in her car, police said, but eventually lost sight of him. She then called 911 to report the incident.
