Summer Sports Leagues Returning To Hicksville Athletic Center

HICKSVILLE, NY — The Town of Oyster Bay is relaunching its summer basketball, badminton and volleyball leagues this summer, starting in July at the Hicksville Athletic Center.

Registration for the programs will be held on June 7, 8 and 10 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Hicksville Athletic Center, located at 167 Broadway in Hicksville. All of the programs are co-ed and open to anyone 18 and older.

Basketball will feature three sessions available to choose from: Thursdays from 9 to 10:30 p.m., Saturdays from 7:30 to 9 a.m., and Sundays from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. The basketball program is 10 weeks long and costs $25 for residents and $40 for non-residents, with the program scheduled to begin on July 8.

Badminton will feature two sessions available for registrants to choose from. The first session consists of Tuesdays and Fridays from 8:45 to 10:15 p.m. and Sundays from 6:45 to 8:45 p.m. The second session consists of Tuesdays and Fridays from 10:15 to 11:45 p.m. and Sundays from 8:45 to 10:45 p.m. The Badminton program is 10 weeks long and costs $75 for residents and $100 for non-residents, with the program scheduled to begin on July 6.

Volleyball will be split into two different sessions. The first session will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:45 to 10:15 p.m. and Saturdays from 6:45 to 8:45 p.m. The second session will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:15 to 11:45 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:45 to 10:45 p.m. The volleyball program is 10 weeks long, costs $75 for residents and $100 for non-residents, and is scheduled to begin on July 7.

Proof of residency is required for the resident discount. The schedule is subject to change. If a session is cancelled, make-up day(s) will be attempted. In light of the ongoing pandemic, class enrollment will be limited to allow for proper social distancing, temperatures will be checked upon entry, masks must be worn as long as state mandates require it, and there will be daily sanitizing before and after class.
