2020 Election Results: How The Town Of Islip Voted

The Suffolk County Board of Elections released statistics from the Nov. 3 election.

TOWN OF ISLIP, NY — Last month, residents in the town of Islip either hit the polls or mailed their votes on Election Day to choose their representatives.

After the Suffolk County Board of Elections gathered all the votes, they released data to show how each town across the county voted.

The town of Islip, which contains dozens of smaller communities within the township, has 226 election district and 212,747 registered voters. A total of 154,208 residents turned out to vote.

It was a very close presidential race within the town, with residents leaning toward President-elect Joseph Biden on Election Day. According to the data, Biden received 75,826 or 49.5 percent, of the votes. President Donald Trump received 75,496 or 49.3 percent, of the votes.

In the 1st Congressional District race, voters within the town of Islip overwhelmingly voted for incumbent Lee Zeldin. He received 4,219 or 60.2 percent of the vote while challenger Nancy Goroff received 2,791 or 39.8 percent of the vote.

For the 2nd Congressional District race, Andrew Garbarino who ultimately won the hotly contested seat left open by longtime representative Pete King, received the most votes within the 215 districts in the town of Islip. He received 69,286 or 50.7 percent, of the votes while Jackie Gordon received 65,889, or 48.2 percent, of the votes.

The 102 district within the town of Islip represented by the 3rd Senatorial District chose Monica Martinez, who received 31,199 or 52.1 percent of the vote. Challenger Alexis Weik received 28,663 or 47.9 percent of the vote.

In the 4th Senate District race, incumbent Phil Boyle beat out challenger Christine Pellegrino. Boyle received 48,330 or 57.7 percent, of the votes while Pellegrino received 35,447 or 42.3 percent of the votes.
