OCEAN BAY PARK, NY - A massive blaze made worse by the storm destroyed three homes on Fire Island early Thursday. The fire was reported on Bayview Walk at about 2:45 a.m. and quickly spread to from home to home due to the high winds.

Dozens of local fire departments responded to assist the Ocean Bay Park Fire Department in battling the blaze. The Islip Fire Department responded by boat but due to the extremely rough waters, the Islip fire boat was unable to dock in Ocean Bay Park and was re-routed to the Ocean Beach ferry terminal.
