Body Found In Water At Captree State Park

CAPTREE STATE PARK, NY - The body of a man was found in the water at Captree State Park on Monday night, a NYS Parks spokesman confirmed.

New York State Park Police received a report about 9:51 p.m. that a body was seen floating face down in the water off the fishing docks at the park.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Suffolk County Marine Unit recovered the body of a man from shallow water on the north side of Captree Island.

The cause of death was not disclosed.

The investigation by New York State Park Police and detectives is continuing.
