Closures Expected on State Route 111 This Week
The road will be closed for construction as part of a project to perform minor steel repairs and paint overpass bridges.

TOWN OF ISLIP, NY - Driver should expect overnight closures this week in the Town of Islip for road work on Route 111.
The construction will beginning Wednesday, May 2 on State Route 111 at the Long Island Expressway.
Northbound traffic from State Route 111 will be detoured east along the south service road (Express Drive South) to Lincoln Boulevard where drivers will be able to then travel west on the north service road (Express Drive North) back towards State Route 111.

Southbound traffic will be detoured westbound on Express Drive North to Suffolk County Route 67 (Motor Parkway), where they will then have the option to travel eastbound on Express Drive South towards State Route 111.
Portable variable message signs and detour signs have been placed in the area with information.

Work at this location is expected to be completed within two weeks.
This is part of a $5.2 million New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) project to perform minor steel repairs and paint overpass eight bridges all within Suffolk County.
Motorists are reminded to drive carefully through the work zone, obey any speed restrictions that may be in place, and the instructions of the flag persons.
