Coffee Shop Chain Looks To Take Over Former Islip Pub

The Long Island-based chain is hoping to open a new coffee shop in Islip this year.

ISLIP, NY — A local coffee shop chain is looking to open its latest location in Islip, according to a report in GreaterBayShore.

The Bean opened its first location in Babylon in 2010 and since then has launched shops in Bay Shore, North Babylon, and Patchogue.

Now, the owner is looking to expand to Islip, taking over the former Viking Pub on 176 Main Street, GreaterBayShore reports.

While an exact opening date has not yet been confirmed, the new shop is hoping to be up and running by 2022, pending approval from town officials, according to GreaterBayShore. It will also be the first to have a drive-thru.
