Construction To Cause Lane Closure On Veterans Memorial Highway
Work could take up to a month. Drivers are advised to proceed with caution.
TOWN OF ISLIP, NY - Construction will cause overnight lane closures on Veterans Memorial Highway (State Route 454) in the town of Islip starting this week, according to the New York State Department of Transportation.
Beginning Monday, October 7, there will be single lane closures on the highway between Sycamore Lane and 13th Avenue from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. The closures will occur in either the eastbound or westbound directions, but not concurrently.
Electronic signs have been posted in the area to alert motorists regarding closures.

Resurfacing work in this area is expected to be completed in one month.
As with most road projects, work may be cancelled, postponed, or prolonged due to inclement weather.
