Flash Flood Watch In Effect In Town Of Islip

Residents should proceed with caution during the rainfall Thursday and Friday.

TOWN OF ISLIP, NY - A flash flood watch is in effect in the Town of Islip for Thursday and Friday.

The watch is in effect from 12 p.m. on Oct. 11 through 6 a.m. on Oct. 12.

An average rainfall of 1.5 to 2 inches is expected, with higher amounts possible locally.

Any heavy rainfall which occurs within a 1 to 3 hour time frame may result in flash flooding.

Residents are advised to monitor the local weather forecast.
