Fundraiser Provides Thanksgiving Dinner To Over 900 Families
Thanks to local fundraising efforts, nearly 900 families in need got to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal this holiday.

ISLIP, NY - Thanks to local fundraising efforts, nearly 900 families in need got to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal this holiday.
The Islip Food For Hope and its Supervisor's Thanksgiving Breakfast fundraising event raised enough money to provide almost 900 families in the Town of Islip with "Boxes of Love."
The boxes contained all the trimmings needed for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.

During the event, Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter was joined by Islip Councilman John C. Cochrane, Jr.; Food For Hope President Liz Mayott; Food For Hope Executive Vice President MaryAnn Pfeiffer; DPW and Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Commissioner Tom Owens; Receiver of Taxes Alexis Weik; Deputy Commissioner, Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs, Carol Charchalis; Mary Reid, Brentwood Public Library; Pastor Gregory Wilk, Abundant Life Church and Islip Town employees and volunteers.
"This is a true testament to the generosity of our employees, and the residents of the Town of Islip," Carpenter said.. "Each year we're able to provide more and more "Boxes of Love" to those in need. It's truly heartwarming."
