Islip High School Honors 19 Seniors Earning AP Diplomas

Five students were awarded an AP Capstone Diploma this year.

Highlighting Islip High School’s rigorous AP Capstone program, five Islip High School seniors – Anjalee Appalsammy, Jessica Chan, Victoria Pearsall, Vasu Persaud and Sally Voska – were awarded an AP Capstone Diploma this year. Another 14 of their fellow seniors – Talisa Altman, Lucy Arrillaga, Lauren Callaway, Michele Capra, Tracy Chen, Elizabeth DeSimone, Jessica Dutta, Mackenzie Howell, Fatimah Ishtiaq, Adon Johnson, Jaelyn McCracken, Jack McDonald, Eric Pepe and Sophia Sabatino – earned AP Seminar and Research Certificates.

A College Board diploma program, AP Capstone centers on the AP Seminar and AP Research courses, each a year long. Students with scores of 3 or higher in AP Seminar and AP Research earn the AP Seminar and Research Certificate, while those with scores of 3 or higher in AP Seminar and AP Research as well as four additional AP exams earn the AP Capstone Diploma.
