Islip High School’s 24 AP Scholars spotlighted

Twenty-four outstanding seniors who were named AP Scholars by the College Board for their academic excellence.

Islip High School recently recognized 24 outstanding seniors who were named AP
Scholars by the College Board for their academic excellence in college-level Advanced
Placement courses and exams.

Eight seniors – Anjalee Appalsammy, Lucy Arrillaga, Lauren Callaway, Jessica Chan,
Tracy Chen, Victoria Pearsall, Vasu Persaud and Sally Voska – were named 2020 AP
Scholars with Distinction, awarded to students who earn an average score of at least 3.5 on
all AP exams and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.

Five seniors – Joseph Bell, Michele Capra, Elizabeth DeSimone, Adon Johnson and Matt Koebele – were named 2020 AP Scholars with Honor, awarded to students who earn an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP exams and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.

Eleven seniors – Michael Bonilla, Jordan Bravin, Emma Gardner, Mackenzie Howell,
Emmie Jensen, Jaelyn McCracken, Jack McDonald, Phillip Muller, Eric Pepe, Sophia Sabatino
and Robert Trovato – were named 2020 AP Scholars, awarded to students who earn an
average score of at least 3 or higher on three or more AP exams.
