Islip Man Tried To Meet With 11-Year-Old For Sex: Feds
Kevin Will, 55, used the messaging app Kik to arrange a meeting with a child, according to federal prosecutors.
ISLIP, NY — An Islip man was arrested after attempting to meet up with an 11-year-old boy through the messaging app Kik, officials from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York told Patch on Monday.
Kevin Will, 55, was accused of messaging an undercover law enforcement officer to set up a meeting with the boy. U.S. Magistrate Judge Anne Shields released Will on Friday on a $1.5 million bond secured by his homes in Islip and Commack. Will was ordered to stay under house arrest, wear an electronic monitoring device and refrain from using internet-enabled devices.
Authorities said last month, the FBI was investigating a Kik chat room called "LongIslandDLMenOnly" when they noticed a post with the display name "Kevin Will" and user name "Southshore27."

The account responded to a post made by a father, who was actually an undercover law enforcement officer, stating that he was going on vacation with his 11-year-old son to Long Island, according to a criminal complaint. Will wrote that he wanted to pursue "oral and anal sexual contact" with the son, according to the complaint.
Will agreed to meet the father at a coffee shop in Farmingdale on Thursday to discuss the arrangement and meet the son, according to the complaint. An undercover operation was conducted at the coffee shop and the father and Will agreed to meet at a Melville hotel where he thought the son was going to be, authorities said.
