Islip Restaurant Devastated By Blaze Opens Temporary Food Truck
The Blue Restaurant and Bar, which was badly damaged by a fire last month, reopened a new food truck while they rebuild.

ISLIP, NY — An Islip eatery found a way to keep its operations running and continue to serve the community following a devastating fire last month. On April 17, the blaze was reported at the The Blue Restaurant and Bar on 526 Main Street. No injures were reported, but the restaurant suffered serious damage.
"As you could imagine we are devastated and our hearts are," the business owners Jeannie and Chris wrote in a message on Facebook. "We thank God there were no injuries and that the fire didn't spread to adjacent businesses. We love the town of Islip who welcomed us over a year ago and the many patrons who support The Blue."
While the business was not able to open its storefront yet, last week Blue Restaurant received a food truck from neighboring restaurant Dang BBQ on 174 Islip Avenue.
