Islip School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Islip is September 5. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Islip School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

• 10/9: No School (Columbus Day)

• 11/7: No School for Students (Superintendent’s Conference Day)
• 11/10: No School (Veterans' Day)
• 11/23 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Recess)

December

• 12/25 - 1/1: No School (Winter Recess)

January

• 1/1: No School (Winter Recess)
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)

February

• 2/19 - 2/23: No School (Mid Winter Recess)

March

• 3/29: School Closed if No Snow Days Used
• 3/30 - 4/6: No School (Spring Recess)

April

• 4/2 - 4/6: No School (Spring Recess)

May

• 5/24 - 5/25: School Closed if No Snow Days Used
• 5/28: No School (Memorial Day)

June

• 6/21: Islip High School Graduation
• 6/22: Last Day of School
