Islip Town Democrats To Launch Campaigns Saturday At Town Hall
The candidates who will run for the now council district-zoned Town of Islip seats plan to outline their platforms at Islip Town Hall.

ISLIP, NY —For the first time, Islip Town council seats will be voted on by council district instead of the previous at-large system. The Democratic candidates plan to launch their campaigns and outline their platforms Saturday at Islip Town Hall.
There are two seats opening in 2021: District One, covering Brentwood and North Bay Shore and District Two, which represents Central Islip, Hauppauge, Islip Terrace, East Islip, Great River, Oakdale, West Sayville, North Great River and Bohemia.
Candidates Jorge Guadron, Darrin Green and Donovan Currey will speak at Town Hall "advocating for more action on quality-of-life issues like dealing with the decaying Dowling Property, increasing docking fees, and the lack of services of residents in the northern communities of the town," according to a news release from the Islip Town Democratic Committee.
