Islip Town To Host Parking Amnesty Program This Week

Residents with outstanding parking summons may be eligible to pay a reduced fee as part of the town's Parking Amnesty program this week.

ISLIP, NY — Town of Islip officials announced that this week residents with outstanding parking summons may be eligible to pay a reduced fee as part of the town's Parking Amnesty program.

Through Sunday, July 21, vehicle owners with outstanding parking summons may be eligible for a 50 percent reduction to the summons amount, as part of Islip Town's Parking Amnesty program. The program applies to vehicle owners who have outstanding parking summonses that were issued before April 20, 2020 and are returnable to the Town of Islip Traffic and Parking Violations Bureau.

A payment of half of the amount outstanding will be accepted by the Town as full payment for these cases. Those who have already pleaded not-guilty to parking summonses and are awaiting a hearing date, may change their pleas to guilty and take advantage of the price reduction.
