Legislator Hosts Operation Safe Child At Islip Library

Legislator Tom Cilmi along with the Suffolk County Sheriff's Department hosted an Operation Safe Child event at Islip Public Library.

From Legislator Tom Cilmi's Office: Legislator Tom Cilmi along with the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department hosted an Operation Safe Child event at Islip Public Library. Children were photographed and fingerprinted for submission to the New York State Department of Criminal Justice Services (Amber Alert). In addition, parents are issued ID cards to keep for their children. The card contains critical information to aid in a child’s search should they ever go missing.

Cilmi said, “Over 60 children are safer today than they were yesterday as a result of this program. I was delighted to join Sheriff Toulon in bringing this program to the community. My thanks go to the two dedicated Correction Officers, the Library staff and everyone who participated in this event.”
