LI Coronavirus: Virtual Earth Day Festival Planned
Seatuck Environmental Association will host an online earth day celebration.

ISLIP, NY — This year, the popular Eco-Carnival hosted by Seatuck Environmental Associationwill be held on Facebook Live. The Earth Day celebration is slated for Saturday, April 25 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. and the organizers are trying to bring the same interactive, educational, family fun of the in-person festival to the digital event.
This year's event celebrates the 50th anniversary of Earth Day and is jointly sponsored by Nassau County, Suffolk County and the Town of Islip. The Facebook event will have live music, a live animal show, nature-focused games and activities.
“We’re excited to offer a stay-at-home, social-distancing-friendly celebration of Earth Day and the natural world,” said Enrico Nardone, Seatuck’s Executive Director. “Our staff and volunteers have planned a day of fun-filled activities for the whole family to enjoy.”

Live presentations during the live broadcast will include segments on local birds, pond exploration, and "insect adventures." Nature activities for children to do at home are also planned.
