Long Island Cinco de Mayo Fiesta Guide: Where To Eat On May 5th

These restaurants will be serving up Mexican-inspired eats and drinks Wednesday.

LONG ISLAND, NY— Last Cinco de Mayo, Long Islanders were stuck with takeout but this year restaurants are able to serve special meals and drinks to those who want to celebrate the Mexican holiday. Wednesday, May 5, these spots will be serving up Mexican or Mexican-inspired treats.

Maxwell's, Islip, is celebrating with pork taco specials, birria empanadas and margaritas, Mexican mules and "pica chamoy" cocktails.

Del Fuego, Babylon and Patchogue, has a list of specialty margarita flavors that are available to stay or go. Takeout margaritas have to be ordered with to-go food. Besides the classic margaritas, Del Fuego is serving up mashed margaritas, with fruit puree, and pinacoritas, with coconut and pineapple juice

Besito, Huntington, is hosting a Cinco de Mayo fiesta with a tasting featuring Patron tequila, chef's specials, and specialty cocktails like a ginger jalapeno margarita.

Dirty Taco + Tequila, Wantagh, Rockville Centre and Woodbury, is opening all its locations on noon to start the Mexican holiday early.

Barito, Port Jefferson, is giving away piñatas stuffed with gift cards, alcohol, taco vouchers and candy. A margarita purchase gets you a raffle ticket.

Margarita's Cafe, East Meadow, will be serving margarita and beer specials, and a live mariachi band will be on hand for extra atmosphere.
