Man Crosses 3 Lanes Of Traffic, Fatally Crashes Into Divider
The 75-year-old driver was killed after crashing into a divider on Sunrise Highway Saturday evening.
ISLIP, NY — A 75-year-old East Islip man was killed after crashing his car onto a divider on Sunrise Highway in Islip Saturday evening, according to Suffolk Police.
Jay Miller was driving a 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe westbound on the highway, west of exit 44, when his car went from the right lane across all three lanes of traffic and collided with the divider, causing the car to overturn at 5:25 p.m.
Miller was taken via ambulance to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where he was pronounced dead.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
