Meet The New Owners Of Angela's Pizzeria

ISLIP, NY — Local couple Tara and Vincent DiMaio recently took over as the new owners of a popular Islip pizzeria. The duo, who are Islip graduates and now live in nearby Bay Shore, officially started as the new owners of Angela's Restaurant & Pizzeria on 192 Islip Avenue on Wednesday.

The former owners, Sal and Frencesca Cilluffo, announced they were retiring after 36 years in business. This is the first business venture for the DeMaios.

Patch spoke with Tara to learn more about the new owners and their plans for the longtime pizzeria.

Patch: What made you want to take over this business?

Tara: For years, Vincent has worked in high volume pizzeria's - always putting his heart into what he does, working 60-70 hours a week. He wanted to do it for his family, and have his own business that he could do his way.

P: Will you be making any changes to the business?

T: Yes! We will soon be adding new specialty pies, grandma, white, BIG MAC, buffalo chicken! We will also be accepting credit cards and offering delivery! We also will be giving it some updates inside!

P: What will you be keeping the same?

T: We hear the people of Islip, the SAUCE is staying!

P: What COVID measures will you be taking?

T: We will be monitoring employees for any symptoms, temperature checking and cleaning and sanitizing CONSTANTLY.

P: What's one thing you want your future customers to know?

T: We want Angela's to continue to be part of the community. We look forward to building new partnerships and introducing our family, us and our two children, to yours!

P: What's the one thing you're most excited about owning this business?

T: Being part of a beautiful town, continuing to be your pizza destination in Islip and making all of your pizza dreams come true! Share your ideas with us! We love to hear them!

P: What's one fun fact about you?

T: Vinny and I met in Islip High School, and started dating shortly after! When in school, I spent a lot of time in Angela's where I became good friends with the previous owners late son, Vinny. I sat in the same booth that's here now almost every week!
