Outdoor Dining Permits Extended For Town Of Islip Businesses
Amid the coronavirus pandemic, restaurants and bars and now extend their outdoor dining through the end of January.
TOWN OF ISLIP, NY — The Town of Islip has modified its permit applications to allow local bars and restaurants to extend their outdoor dining into the winter months.
Amid the coronavirus pandemic, many businesses have opted to move operations outdoors under health guidelines to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. However, as the cold weather approaches, many businesses are trying to find new and creative ways to extend outdoor dining.
As a result, the town planning department and fire prevention offices have modified the temporary outdoor dining permit/tent permit application for bars and restaurants that wish to extend their outdoor dining through January 31, 2021.

Local eateries can also choose to modify existing tents or install new temporary tents or other structures such as igloos and heating equipment.
In order to extend outdoor dining, business owners must complete the revised application dated October 8, 2020. The application is available here at no cost. Complete applications are typically reviewed and approved within a few hours of submission.
