Storm Wallops Islip, Many Still Without Power: PHOTOS

ISLIP, NY - A severe storm slammed Long Island on Thursday, hitting areas like Islip particularly hard.

The area was hit with a serious thunderstorm along with 60 mph winds, causing downed trees and power outages all across the island.

In Islip, there are still 2,209 residents still without power as of Friday morning, according to the PSEG power outage map. Power is expected to be fully restored by Saturday at 7:30 a.m.
