Town of Islip Declares State of Emergency

On-street parking is not permitted during the storm.

Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter declared a State of Emergency for Thursday.

Residents must remove all cars from the streets during this time.

In addition, residents are asked refrain from clearing snow into the streets and to remove any empty trash cans from the morning’s sanitation collections.

Carpenter is also advising residents to stay indoors and off the roads. Senior citizens are advised to avoid the temptation to venture outside and drive, or shovel snow.

"Today’s weather event is the perfect opportunity for residents to come together and help one another in their community," a message from the Town of Islip reads.
