Town Receives New Refrigerated Van To Transport Meals To Seniors
The van will be be used to transport meals to homebound senior citizens during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Islip Town officials welcomed the arrival of a refrigerated van which will be used to transport meals to homebound senior citizens during the COVID-19 pandemic. Supplemental funding for the van and other COVID-related resources, including shelf-stable meals, PPE supplies and equipment at the Town’s Senior Centers, was made available by the Islip CDA through HUD under the CARES Act.

“We are grateful to our partners at the Islip CDA, who have continued to provide funding that promotes the health, safety and well-being of our residents,” said Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter.
Supervisor Carpenter was joined by Tom Owens, Commissioner, Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs; Carol Charchalis, Deputy Commissioner, Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs; Julia MacGibbon, Assistant Director, Town of Islip CDA; Jay Bowers, Town of Islip CDA Executive Director.
