2 Accused Of Gang Assault For Killing Homeless Man In Queens

Police have arrested a second man on gang assault and manslaughter charges for a homeless man's slaying in East Elmhurst in June.

ELMHURST, QUEENS — A second man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a homeless man's slaying in East Elmhurst in June, according to police.

Elmhurst resident Jorge Chavez Del Castillo, 32, faces charges of manslaughter, gang assault and criminal possession of a weapon for the fatal stabbing of 40-year-old Fabian Cymry on an East Elmhurst street corner the morning of June 2, police said.

The NYPD arrested 31-year-old Jackson Heights resident Luis Lara Del Castillo on the same charges about two weeks after the homicide.

Cymry died five days after first responders found him at the corner of 31st Avenue and 91st Street. He had been stabbed multiple times in the torso.

Police said he was homeless.
