ELMHURST, NY — Two people suffered minor injuries after a fire broke out Tuesday in an Elmhurst home, according to the FDNY.

The blaze started about 3:15 p.m. on the first floor of a house on Pettit Avenue by Judge Street, a Fire Department spokesperson said.

Firefighters rescued two people from inside the home, according to the spokesperson.

EMS brought them to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition.

The fire was under control within half an hour, the FDNY spokesperson said.
