Elmhurst Lunar New Year Celebration: Where and When

Elmhurst's Year of the Pig festivities on Saturday will feature lion dancers and other performances.

ELMHURST, QUEENS - Celebrations of the start of the Year of the Pig aren't over. Council Member Daniel Dromm is hosting Lunar New Year festivities on Saturday in Elmhurst, featuring lion dancers and other performances.

The celebration will last from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church at 84-07 Broadway.

Activities include face painting and crafts, a raffle and a performance by P.S. 7 and P.S. 13. Yuhua Hamasaki, a former RuPaul Drag Race contestant, will do a special reading at 11:30 a.m.

The Asian Community United Society, Maspeth Federal Savings Bank, Emblem Health, Queens Library, Queens Museum and Coalition for Asian American Children + Families are co-sponsors.
