Ex-Boyfriend Violently Stabs Woman In Elmhurst: NYPD
Police are searching for Juan Portoviejo after he allegedly stabbed the mother of his children more than 20 times when she got out of a cab.

ELMHURST, QUEENS -- A man is wanted for stabbing the mother of his children more than 20 times after she stepped out of a livery cab in Elmhurst, police said.
The 31-year-old woman was left badly hurt and bleeding near Forley Street and Lamont Avenue after the attack early Tuesday morning, but she's expected to survive, cops said.
Her ex-beau, with whom she has two children, stabbed her repeatedly in the neck and torso. He punctured her lung and slit her throat, but missed vital organs, authorities said.

The woman was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital, where she's now recovering in stable condition, police said.
Cops are now searching for Juan Portoviejo, the 33-year-old vengeful ex-lover who they believe is behind the attack. He allegedly stabbed the woman after she got out of the livery cab at about 4:50 a.m. and then fled the area.

This isn't the first time Portoviejo has attacked his ex-beau, police said. He allegedly snuck up on her and began choking her on Aug. 13 after she got out of a cab on her way home from work.
The NYPD released a photo of Portoviejo late Tuesday night. He is described at standing about 5-foot-5 and weighing roughly 150 pounds.
