Free Paper Shredding Events Slated In Elmhurst Area

Congressman Joe Crowley will host two events for New Yorkers to safely get rid of their documents on May 19 and 20, his office said Monday.

ELMHURST, QUEENS -- New Yorkers looking to do a bit of spring cleaning with their documents can have them shredded free of charge in Queens this month.

Congressman Joe Crowley (D-Queens) will host two community shredding events in the Elmhurst area on May 19 and 20, his office announced Monday.

Whether it's sensitive personal information or paperwork cluttering your home, bring any documents you want destroyed to the warehouse behind 59-10 Queens Blvd. for the first shredding in Woodside on May 19. Crowley will host the event from 10 a.m. to noon alongside State Sen. Michael Gianaris, Assemblyman Brian Barnwell and City Councilman Jimmy Van Bramer.

The second shredding on May 20 will be across from Elmhurst's Silver Spoon Diner on 59th Avenue between Junction Boulevard and 94th Street. Crowley will host it from 1 - 3 p.m. with Assemblyman Jeff Aubrey and City Councilman Francisco Moya.
