Man Hacks Cards, Withdraws $1,600 From Jackson Heights Bank: NYPD

The man used two peoples' stolen debit card information to withdraw hundreds of dollars from their accounts at a local Citibank, police say.

JACKSON HEIGHTS, QUEENS -- Police are searching for a man who, in a matter of days, stole two peoples' debit card information and used it to withdraw around $1,600 from a Jackson Heights bank.

The man took out the large sum of stolen cash from a Citibank at 37-57 74th St. on April 13 at around 9 a.m. after stealing the debit card information in the days prior, police said.

He used the stolen debit card digits to take out around $600 from a 24-year-old's account and another $1,000 from a 47-year-old's account, cops said.

Police described the suspect as a man in his 30s standing at around 5-foot-8 and weighing about 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing sunglasses, a green jacket and a blue shirt.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
