Man Killed Crossing Astoria Boulevard In East Elmhurst: Cops

EAST ELMHURST, QUEENS — A man was killed crossing Astoria Boulevard in East Elmhurst early Sunday morning, according to police.

Jamaica Hills resident German Gutierrez was walking across the busy boulevard near 93rd Street about 7 a.m. when a 66-year-old driver in a Lexus SUV crashed into the pedestrian, police said.

EMS rushed an unconscious Gutierrez to Elmhurst Hospital, where he died. He was 50.

The NYPD's Collision Investigation Squad is investigating but hasn't made any arrests.
