Pedestrian Killed Crossing Roosevelt Avenue In Queens: Cops
A van driver hit and killed a pedestrian as she crossed Roosevelt Avenue in Woodside Friday morning, according to police.
WOODSIDE, QUEENS — A van driver hit and killed a pedestrian as she crossed Roosevelt Avenue in Queens Friday morning, according to police.
Woodside resident Choekyi Norzom, 49, was crossing Roosevelt Avenue about 8:45 a.m. when a driver heading south on 65th Street started turning left onto Roosevelt and slammed into her, an NYPD spokesperson said.
First responders rushed the woman to Elmhurst Hospital, where she died.

The driver, a 74-year-old man in a 2002 Ford van, hasn't been arrested and didn't receive any summonses for the crash, the police spokesperson added.
The NYPD's Collision Investigation Squad is reviewing the case.
