Queens Wannabe Bank Robber Flees After Demanding Money: NYPD
The amateur thief passed an Elmhurst bank teller a note demanding money but fled before he got a response, police say.

ELMHURST, QUEENS -- A wannabe thief tried his hand at robbing an Elmhurst bank but didn't stick around to see the outcome, police said.
The man walked into the Chase Bank at 89-21 Queens Blvd. on Monday at around 10 a.m. clad in a dark suit and cap, sunglasses and a briefcase, cops said.
He then passed one of the tellers a note demanding money bolted from the bank before the teller even had a chance to respond, police said.

Cops said the man fled east on Queens Boulevard.
The NYPD released photos of the amateur burglar, who police described as a 40-to-50-year-old man standing at around 5-foot-10 and weighing about 160 pounds.
