Three people are dead after a fire ravaged an abandoned home in southeast Queens late Thursday, according to police and fire officials.

ST. ALBANS, QUEENS — Three people are dead after a fire ravaged an abandoned home in southeast Queens late Thursday, according to police and fire officials.
The fire broke out just before midnight at a house on Farmers Boulevard near Jordan Avenue in St. Albans, according to police.
Once firefighters had extinguished the flames, they discovered the three unidentified men, unconscious and unresponsive, according to police. First responders pronounced them dead.

Authorities believe the victims were squatters, the New York Daily News reported.
It took more than 100 firefighters and over an hour to beat back the flames, a Fire Department spokesperson said.

Four firefighters with minor injuries were rushed to North Shore University Hospital, according to the FDNY.
It's unclear how the fire started. FDNY fire marshals are investigating.
