Brooklyn Man Turns Himself In For South Jamaica Murder: NYPD

The East New York man was arrested on Tuesday for fatally shooting a man inside the Baisley Park Houses earlier this month, cops said.

JAMAICA, QUEENS -- A Brooklyn man turned himself in early Tuesday morning for a fatal shooting that happened less than a week ago inside South Jamaica's Baisley Park Houses, police said.

Walter Ware, 46, was arrested at around 2:45 a.m. after giving himself up to local authorities, cops said. The East New York man was charged with murder and criminal possession of a loaded firearm.

Officers responding to a 911 call of shots fired inside the Baisley Park Houses at 2 a.m. on May 16 found Raymond Rue, 41, lying motionless in the second-floor hallway of the public housing complex at 116-80 Guy R. Brewer Blvd.

Rue had suffered a gunshot wound to his head in what appeared to be a drug-related shooting, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ware was slated to be arraigned in Queens Criminal Court on Tuesday, records show.
