City Worker Arrested For Biting Boyfriend In Queens Dispute: NYPD
The off-duty NYC Housing Authority caretaker was arrested for assault on New Year's Day, police say.

FRESH MEADOWS, QUEENS -- An off-duty New York City employee rang in the New Year with an arrest for biting her boyfriend's hand during an argument in Queens, police told Patch.
Gloria Rawlins, 38, was arrested Monday morning following a dispute with her boyfriend that ended in her allegedly biting his right palm, cops said. Rawlins works as a caretaker for the New York City Housing Authority, a spokesperson for the agency confirmed.
Officers from the NYPD's 107th precinct responded to the dispute at around 9 a.m. near Francis Lewis Boulevard and 73rd Avenue, where Rawlins was arrested on assault charges. The alleged bite broke skin, leaving her boyfriend with cuts to his hand, an NYPD spokeswoman said.

An NYCHA spokesperson did not say whether Rawlins' charge would affect her employment with the agency.
“NYCHA reviews all staff arrests on a case by case basis," the spokesperson told Patch. "Staff are required to notify the Office of the Inspector General of any arrests within three business days.”
