JAMAICA ESTATES, QUEENS — An auction of President Donald Trump's childhood home has been postponed indefinitely because no qualified bidders came forward, according to a news report.

The Jamaica Estates house was supposed to head to auction Nov. 14, but auction company Paramount Realty USA canceled the plan so prospective buyers can crowdfund enough money to make a bid, the New York Post reported.

Bidders were required to pay a nonrefundable $100 fee to access the auction and send a 10-percent deposit along with their offer, according to the auction's description.

"People have talked about demolishing it, creating a museum, donating it to immigrants or veterans, creating a presidential library and other things," Paramount Realty USA principal Misha Haghani told the Post.

Haghani did not immediately respond to Patch's request for comment.

The home's current owner, an anonymous Chinese investor who bought the property in 2017 under the name Trump Birth House LLC, has struggled to sell it.

The five-bedroom Tudor house was listed for sale in February for $2.9 million, but it was taken off the market days later thanks to an overwhelming media response, the New York Times reported. In 2016, the home sold for $1.39 million to real estate investor Michael Davis, who flipped it months later for $2.14 million.

Meanwhile, the neighborhood's median home price is just under $1 million, according to the New York Post.
