This Is Queens' Most Affordable Neighborhood: Report

The median price to buy a home in the neighborhood is $202,500, according to StreetEasy analysts.

JAMAICA ESTATES, QUEENS -- If you're house hunting on a budget in Queens, you may want to hone in on the borough's east side - specifically Jamaica Estates.

The upper middle class neighborhood in northern Jamaica is the most affordable in Queens, according to a recent StreetEasy report. Homes in Jamaica Estates sell for a median price of $202,500, just over half the borough's overall $500,000 median sale price, analysts from the real estate site reported.

The report of the most and least affordable neighborhoods in NYC divided Queens into 53 neighborhoods, where home prices varied by around $700,000 between the most and least expensive areas - Long Island City and Jamaica Estates, respectively.

Briarwood ranked second among the borough's most affordable homes with a $225,000 median sale price, according to the report. It was followed by Kew Gardens Hills at $272,000, Kew Gardens at $282,944 and Oakland Gardens at $295,000.

The report also highlighted Queens' reputation as "an ideal home for middle-income New Yorkers, with nearly half of the borough's median prices sitting between $400,000 and $600,000.
