A 24-year-old man is in critical condition after he was shot during an attempted robbery in Jamaica midday Tuesday, according to police.

JAMAICA, QUEENS — A 24-year-old man is in critical condition after he was shot during an attempted robbery in Jamaica midday Tuesday, according to police.
The shooting happened about 1:15 p.m. by the intersection of 160th Street and Tuskegee Airmen Way, a police spokesperson said.
The victim was rushed to Jamaica Hospital, a police spokesperson said.

Police have taken a man into custody in connection with the shooting, according to police and video footage from witnesses, but it's not yet clear whether he has been charged.
Video posted to the Citizen App shows a group of police officers handcuffing a man and putting him into a police car.
