Memorial Day Shooting Leaves 1 Dead, 1 Injured In Jamaica: NYPD

A 27-year-old man was fatally shot in the neck and another was shot in the hand on Memorial Day in Queens, police said.

JAMAICA, QUEENS -- One man was killed and another man was injured in a shooting in Jamaica on Memorial Day, police said.

A 27-year-old man was shot in the neck and a 28-year-old man was shot in the hand just before 11:30 a.m. Monday on 104 Street near 107 Avenue, authorities said.

The younger man was rushed to Jamaica Hospital after a car traveling east on 107 Avenue crashed into a parked car near 111 Street. He was later pronounced dead.

The older man later walked into Long Island Jewish Medical Center, where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
