Multi-Level Air Cargo Warehouse To Go Up Near JFK Airport
Triangle Equities announced plans on Tuesday to build the 300,000-square-foot warehouse a quarter of a mile from the airport.

JAMAICA, QUEENS -- A 300,000-square-foot site near the John F. Kennedy Airport in Jamaica could soon become home to New York City's first multi-level air cargo warehouse.
New York-based developer Triangle Equities announced on Tuesday that it bought the site at 130-24 South Conduit Ave with that vision in mind for $25.4 million.
Triangle Equities plans to turn the site, which sits roughly a quarter of a mile from JFK, into a three-story air cargo and distribution warehouse that it will rent out to several tenants, a spokeswoman for the company told Patch.

The developer plans to put industrial spaces on the building's first and second floor, which will be equipped with docks to allow full-sized trailers to load and unload directly on both floors via truck ramps.
The multi-level design will offer the city's - and particularly JFK's - industrial market the much-needed space it currently lacks, said Lester Petracca, president of Triangle Equities.

"By making this a vertical, multi-level facility, we are able to maximize use of the site, thereby increasing the potential impact this project will have on the growth of air cargo at JFK airport and the New York City economy," Petracca said.
The warehouse's design will feature "market leading clear heights, heavy floor loads and large structural column spacing," according to Triangle Equities. Tenants will primarily include air cargo businesses, e-commerce distribution firms and third-party logistics companies looking to enter or expand in New York City, said Josh Weingarten, the developer's director of capital markets.
Triangle Equities hired the New Jersey-based March Associates Construction Inc. to manage the development, which will begin next winter. The warehouse is slated to be up and housing tenants by Summer 2020.
