Queens CUNY Cafeteria Flunks Health Exam, Records Show
The York College cafeteria was closed when health inspectors found mice and vermin in its kitchen, city records show.

JAMAICA, QUEENS — A college cafeteria just flunked its exams. Mice and vermin forced health inspectors to close a City University of New York campus cafeteria in Queens this week, records show.
The York College cafeteria at Guy R. Brewer Boulevard and Liberty Avenue was shuttered Tuesday when a Health Department inspection uncovered unsanitary conditions in its kitchen, city records show.
Inspectors issued 51 violation points to the college cafeteria for mice, vermin, poor plumbing and foods at unsafe temperatures and left unprotected from contamination, Health Department records show.

The cafeteria's report card shows it's been a C student for some years. Health Inspectors gave the York College dining area 33-violation point score on Sept. 25, 2018, a 30-point score on Jan. 28, and a 39-point score on Nov. 23, 2016.
Patch left a message with cafeteria at York College, a liberal arts senior college within the CUNY system, but did not immediately receive a response.
