Robbers Tie Up Queens Family, Steal $10K From Their Home: NYPD

Three thieves allegedly broke into the Hollis home after another perp snuck inside and opened the door for them, police say.

HOLLIS, QUEENS -- Police are searching for a group of armed thieves who broke into a Queens home, tied up the family and stole $10,000.

A trio of men the family had never met before barged into the home in Hollis near 190 Street and Woodhull Avenue at around 7:15 p.m. on May 12 through a door that was unlocked by another man already inside, cops told Patch.

One of the perps pistol-whipped a 20-year-old man in the home before tying him up alongside two other men - 20 and 52 years old, respectively - and raiding the house, police said.

The man who unlocked the door from the inside then ran from the home, while the three others hopped inside a red SUV and sped away down 190 Street with the $10,000 and two stolen cell phones, authorities said.

The NYPD released surveillance photos late Monday night of the four perps, who police estimated were all between 25 and 35 years old. Each wore black or grey hoodies pulled tightly over their faces during the attack.
